Weekly Update — D-78

4월3일 – 4월9일

This week was once again a fairly busy/crazy week, but I did manage to fill a surprising amount of my free time with Korean studying.  I think I’m more motivated to study than usual because of all the study abroad paperwork I’ve been working on for the past few weeks.  Every day that passes by is one day closer to my departure for Seoul.  It’s exciting, but also terrifying.  There’s so much more that I want to learn before I go!

Anyways, this past week I studied through a variety of ways.  I read some of my Korean Harry Potter book, I translated some K-pop songs, I listened to some Iyagis, I reviewed a couple of TTMIK’s grammar lessons, I reviewed some of my Korean Grammar in Use textbook, etc.

My focus was mostly vocabulary-based, and I will probably maintain that vocabulary focus all the way until I go to Korea.  I’ve been analyzing my Korean skills recently, and I think that right now vocabulary expansion will be the most helpful step to take my Korean to the next level.  I will still study at least a little bit of grammar every week, but primarily I will be gathering new vocabulary through LOTS of reading and listening exercises.  The more exposure I have, the better the vocabulary will stick in my brain.  Hopefully… 🙂
